Conres, one of Lithuania’s largest construction companies, announces a significant change – it has become a part of a group of companies. The Lithuanian capital group of companies operates under the name Conresta Group.
Conresta Group is headed by Lukas Laukaitis, who was the CEO of Conres until recently. Ernestas Šeženis took over the steering wheel of the general contracting company Conres, having previously held the position of deputy director. Besides the change of CEO, Conres does not plan any changes in its activities.
‘I have been a part of Conres since the company’s establishment, so not only do I feel the pulse of the company but I also know its most important operating principles. As head of one of the largest general contracting companies in the country, I will strive to maintain the company’s strategic direction and essential values and continue the work that I have started,’ says E. Šeženis.
Conresta Group
The group includes six companies, the most well-known ones are Conres, which provides general contracting and construction services, and Recus, which operates in the investment real estate development sector. The latter company has been operating in Lithuania for a decade. In addition to Lithuania, Conresta Group companies currently operate in three other countries: in Sweden since 2017 , in the Caribbean island of Saint Barthélemy since 2018 and in France since 2021 .
‘Although the country’s business has continued in uncertain market conditions in recent years, our companies have managed to not only maintain stable results but to also ensure significant growth. Following the expansion of our activities in different markets and sectors over several years – general contracting, real estate development and investment – we decided to establish a group of companies,’ explains L. Laukaitis, the CEO of the newly created group.
According to
L. Laukaitis, thechange was being contemplated for quite a few years, the establishment of the group of companies was planned and carried out consistently and this strategic change gradually happened over the course of several years.
‘Development steps were started even before the establishment of the group of companies in Lithuania in 2020. Today, now that all processes have been finalised, we have a fully functional group of companies. As for the management structure, certain group services will be provided centrally to all its subsidiaries, and, if needed, we will contribute to the development of the group’s companies and advise on strategic operational issues while the group itself focuses on investment activities. We strive to see new long-term and sustainable projects in Lithuania that future generations can be proud of; therefore, we believe in their longevity and we invest in their development,’ notes L. Laukaitis.
When asked how the business development plans were affected by the uncertain period and several crises that occurred during recent years, the CEO revealed that these circumstances meant that the process of establishing a group of companies simply took longer.
‘We had to divide our attention when solving various challenges caused by the pandemic, the war in Ukraine, the economic slowdown, increasing prices of materials, high inflation, etc. These circumstances did make the business situation more difficult, but all the companies of the group managed to demonstrate resilience and reach over EUR 137 million turnover in 2022. I am glad that even under those conditions with such market changes, we managed not only to ensure stable growth of financial results but also to implement the planned development and become a strong group of companies,’ says L. Laukaitis.
The same business principles that unite
According to the CEO, the very name of the group of companies shows that it originates from one of the largest players in the country’s construction sector – Conres (formerly Conresta), which has been operating in Lithuania since 2009.
‘The name of the group was not chosen by chance: a year ago we were conducting construction business under the name Conresta, and then we shortened it to Conres. This name better reflects the stable growth of our business and the continuity of projects in foreign markets. Even then we knew that the Conresta Group brand would perfectly represent the broader activities of our entire group of companies. Our vision and goals completely coincide: responsibility for the future,’ notes L. Laukaitis.
According to the CEO of the group, all the companies they manage are united by the same strengths that help them to smoothly implement projects: flexible cooperation, focus on what is important to the customer and the ability to skilfully apply modern technological solutions to its activities.
‘By uniting our companies under one brand, we will strengthen our positions in existing markets and seek to attract new partners. We believe that the accumulated solid experience will allow us to offer our clients complex and professional solutions,’ says L. Laukaitis.
