Located on a 2.8 ha plot near Vilnius Airport, this logistics center will have an automated parcel and mail distribution center. This center (energy class A+) is expected to open in summer 2020 and begin its operations in early 2021. “Automated shipment and mail sorting is a strategic project of Lithuania Post – it must be implemented in order to remain and grow in the highly competitive market of postal services. The construction of the new logistics center is another step towards this strategic goal,” Asta Sungailienė, CEO of Lithuania Post.
The total investment planned for this project is 24 million euros
This logistics center will have dedicated lounge and green areas, and a spacious car parking lot. As part of the long-term postal modernization strategy, environmental issues have been taken into account – solar power plant and electric vehicle charging stations are planned to be used for renewable energy. The current Vilnius Logistics Center of Lithuania Post is located in leased premises and the new one will be built near Vilnius International Airport.
