“Litgrid” data and control center to be built by “Conresta”
The Lithuanian transmission system operator “Litgrid” and “Conresta” has signed a contract for the construction of a new network management and data security center.
By the end of 2019, “Litgrid” plans to establish a new system management and data security center worth 10,183 million euros (excluding VAT). The investment will be funded by the company.
In September 2015, the government has recognized this project as an economic project of national importance. According to the Ministry of Energy, the center would ensure a more stable and secure operation of the country’s energy system and management of transmission flows. After the synchronization of the Baltic power systems and Western European networks, the frequency of the power system in Lithuania will be controlled from this center.
