Omniva LT has chosen Conresta – one of the largest construction companies in Lithuania – as the general contractor for the construction of the most modern parcel sorting terminal in the Baltic states. The contractor will take care of not only the construction of a 21thousand sq. m parcel sorting terminal but also of its design .Earlier this year, the company Omniva LT, which manages the largest network of parcel lockers in Lithuania, has already announced that it will invest a record sum of EUR 40 million in the construction of the most modern parcel sorting terminal in the Baltic states. It is expected that the construction will be completed and the new terminal will start operating in the second quarter of 2024 2024 .

In terms of area, the future building of the terminal will be equal to three football stadiums, and the construction will have the possibility of further expansion, i.e. its area can be extended by up to 50%. According to the CEO of Omniva LT, Simon Bielskis, the new terminal is an integral part of the company’s long-term development.

‘We think about the future and future challenges in advance, and that is why the future state-of-the-art parcel sorting terminal in Kaunas corresponds to our development plans in three ways. First of all, the focus of the new terminal will be performance: we plan to reach a workload of 15 thousand parcels per hour, which will be ensured by Equinox, Europe’s world-class parcel distribution line. Another highlight is the automation of the logistics centre and the electrification of the future transport fleet: a 1.6 MW solar power plant is planned to be installed on the roof of its building, and it will fully ensure all of our electricity needs. In this way, we will comply more effectively with our sustainability commitment. Finally, we see the future parcel sorting terminal as the gateway of the Baltic states to the major Western countries. A number of famous names, e.g. About You, Asos and large electronic stores, consider the market of the Baltic countries as one, and that is why the Kaunas logistics centre will become a convenient gateway for parcels going to Latvia and Estonia,’ says S. Bielskis.

The construction of a new parcel terminal will ensure that parcels sorted by the company are autonomously distributed to over 700 different locations. The technologically advanced parcel sorting terminal will help avoid human errors as much as possible, allowing parcels to be delivered more efficiently and quickly.

According to Lukas Laukaitis, the CEO of the construction company Conresta, the future parcel distribution terminal in Kaunas will meet all the latest requirements that can be applied to such a centre, and the design and construction (hereinafter referred to as Design&Build) project order is a reflection of the company’s professionalism and experience when implementing Design&Build type projects.

‘When providing design and construction services from start to finish, we achieve desired results by creating a customer-oriented Design&Build type project that meets the customer’s expectations. We have implemented many such projects, and I am confident that the construction process will be smooth due to the work flow planned during the design stage and consistent preparation. Moreover, the future parcel distribution terminal will be unique because it offers maximum automation and ensures the well-being of employees. It is designed in such a way that everything is not only automated, but also planned, with the efficient usage of space taken into consideration. I have no doubt that thanks to our professional team, we will implement the order in line with high-quality standards and on time,’ says L. Laukaitis.

The company Omniva LT manages the largest network of parcel lockers in Lithuania, which will soon consist of 420 parcel lockers with more than 52 thousand parcel sections. The company also created the first Lithuanian external goods return service and introduced a new platform for international shipments last year: tarptautines.omniva.lt. Omniva LT belongs to Estonian Post – Eesti Post AB, which manages the largest network of parcel lockers in the Baltic states.

The general contracting and construction company Conresta has been operating in Lithuania since 2009.
