The construction of a new modern building for the American International School of Vilnius (AISV) is starting near Pavilniai Park. It is planned that students of this educational institution will be able to attend classes in the new school from the beginning of the school year 2022.

‘Vilnius is growing, and so are we. The development of the AISV corresponds with the school’s main values and obligations towards its students: to provide the best international education and foster a sense of community and well-being for every member of the community. We feel that we have outgrown our physical spaces, so in order to continue to ensure the highest-quality education, we are ready for a new stage in our activities – another school unit. We chose a location that is close to our current building. Middle and secondary school forms will remain on Subačiaus Street, while the elementary school and kindergarten will move to the new ‘green’ premises near Pavilniai park,’ says the Director of the International School, Stephane Ruz.

According to Ruz, the AISV will remain a school that not only surrounds children with a caring environment but also provides them with a quality international education: students who graduate from this school are awarded an American school diploma and have the opportunity to receive an International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma.

Students of over 29 nationalities study at the school: 39% are Lithuanian, 30% are American and 31% are from other countries. Children who do not speak English at all are also admitted to the elementary school. From the first form, students are also taught another foreign language (French, German or Spanish), and Lithuanians study their native language as well.

The materials and colour solutions of the interior are contrasting while still being perfect harmony. Natural, light materials have been selected for the finishing, and the integrated AISV school logo becomes indicative – it appears in some spaces, for example, in the marking of floors and near the Information Centre. Several brighter colours have also been introduced into the interior to create a unified appearance. Each floor has a different colour, so when changing the floors it is sort of going to different levels.

Building for future generations

According to the CEO of Conres, Lukas Laukaitis, projects like this are intended and built for future generations; they create exceptional value not only for the city but also for the entire country. ‘Each construction is unique and exclusive, and this school is no exception. The new AISV school has become a unique place for children to get to know the world and different cultures. We have no doubt that this school will prepare more than one specialist who will become known to the entire world. Our team of specialists implemented the project in compliance with the highest quality standards. When building this school, we built more than just an object or a building, we created opportunities and well-being for future generations,’ says L. Laukaitis.
